Introduction
A professorial appointment is the prerogative role of the Professorial Board (PB), comprising of scholarly professors of various disciplines and across the continents. The PB is a mix of the contemporary and the old that ensures there is a cultural transition and dilution of medieval research experiences and the jet age technologies.
Conferment of academic titles is made by the University’s Professorial Board on individuals who are considered to have achieved outstanding records in academic disciplines. The titles reflect leadership, exceptional contributions (to the University, the discipline and the profession) and substantial reputation at both national and international levels, in research and scholarship and/or teaching and learning as well as in academic management.
Here is set out the procedures and criteria for the conferment of academic titles upon suitably qualified individuals in recognition of academic achievements at Western Ville University. The academic titles are in the categories of Visiting Professor, Emeritus Professor, Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor.
